After many years of leading clubs and participating in clubs with my 5 kids, and looking at what other Fundraising guides were out there, I have created the most basic but most helpful 2 page google doc chart to simplify the fundraiser process and make sure everyone helping & participating in your upcoming fundraiser is on the same page. And it's free!
It’s a document to help you make a plan, stick to it and not stress. If the Fundraiser Guide (or fundraisers in general) cause you stress, don’t do them! You will get funds from ticket sales and from MAD participation fees.
Give this document to anyone that will be facilitating a fundraiser for your MAD. Some people like doing fundraisers…that’s great!
It’s possible to get your MAD (or club) to the point that you don’t have to collect fees to join. Fundraisers are a great way to get there. However, most parents hate (and I mean hate) fundraisers.
To all of you out there that actually like planning and running a fundraiser, I am extremely thankful for you because I would rather visit my dentist for a dental complication than run a fundraiser! It takes a village!
Keep in mind that many others will feel the same way I do about fundraisers, but that doesn’t exclude them for being good participants of an organization that probably signed up for of their own free will.
-REQUIREMENTS for anyone attempting a fundraiser:
- SUPERVISE THE planning & preparations for the FUNDRAISER
- Supervise the FUNDRAISER DAY FULLY, meaning set up, implementation and clean up
- Involve the leader of the club or organization (and maybe that you) as little as possible so they can focus on being a good leader and enjoy not having to raise funds.
Helpful hint: Pick a type of fundraiser that you can provide easily because it’s something you already know how to do or is something special you have access to that you know others enjoy (example: do you have a pool? Have a pool party with a water themed raffle).
-REQUIREMENT for anyone attempting a fundraiser: SUPERVISE THE FUNDRAISER AND FUNDRAISER DAY FULLY, SEND FINAL AMOUNT RAISED TO COACH WITHIN A WEEK OF THE FUNDRAISER.
