The Overqualified Pirate
Written by: Bethany J. Baldwin, www.MADsocietyInc.com
Basic Plot: Hoping to get a fresh start and a new career, a “down to earth” pirate is interviewed at a modern day corporate company who doesn’t know what to do with someone who actually believes they are an authentic pirate. Unlike most pirate adventures, this one has a happy (and unexpected) ending.
Genre: Comedy
Roles: 4-6 Actors, 1 male, 5 can be male or female
Setting/Era: modern day
Length of Skit: 8-12 minutes
This skit is also sold as part of the MAD Society Variety Show Bundle “Pirate Raid.”
Theater participation is one of the best ways to boost self esteem and improve social skills.
MAD is attractive because of its vintage goal of creating performances that are simple & authentic, showing the personality and uniqueness of the actors & their interests, rather than just putting on a show.
